So many choices, where do I start?

Choosing the right scrapbook supplies

In my previous artile, I touched on the wide variety of scrapbook supplies available, and to the novice and even sometimes seasoned scrapper, the selection can be an intimidating and daunting task instead of a fun-filed adventure.

It is important to make a list or mental note of what it is you need before visiting the store/web site.

Let’s assume you are planning on making a golden anniversary album for your in-laws your list would include;
i. An album, preferably gold
ii. Re-fill pages since most 12 x 12 albums come with 15 sheets (30 pages)
iii. Sheet protectors
iv. Embellishments (such as a bride and groom set, golden cardstock and fibers, wedding/honeymoon stickers)
v. Hardware (templates in various shapes, scissors with decorative edges

Scrapper’s block?

© Copyright Ada Kanu 2012

Even the best in the field of scrapbooks from time to time is stuck without an idea on how to proceed with a layout. Listed below are a few tips that have helped me with the scrapper’s bloc;

a) Looking at the picture you want to use to create your layout. E.g. you are working on a page in your 5-year old son’s scrapbook and you have pictures of him attending his first NFL game, first you could choose your cardstock in the team colors, or use fibers to embellish the page.

b) Look at past projects you have done and take a little bit from each project that fits with the project at hand.

c) Magazines, MAGAZINES! There are a variety of scrapbook magazines and web sites that include tons of layouts that can help get those creative juices flowing.

d) And if all else fails contact me, at Ada@Scramories.com I’d love to help in your project or checkout my website at scramories.com
