Stork fever….

.. seems to have caught my family!

For the last couple of days, the kids, hubby have been asking me about having another baby, or if I’m pregnant. So imagine my surprise when the kids wake me this morning that our landlord is here and he hands me a $20 congratulating me on the soon-to-be-baby!

Apparently they found a baby registry we had set up during my pregnancy with Harry, and the kids had gone over to our neighbor (who is my landlords mother-in-law) and told her it was Henry’s birthday, I don’t know if that is where the miscommunication came from or if all the kids talk about wanting a baby somehow was translated as me being with child.

I enjoyed all of my pregnancies, and would love the opportunity to be a surrogate mom, but dislike any surgical procedures, but most importantly would find it hard to give up a baby I carried for 9-months and worry if the child would somehow grow up resenting me for not keeping him/her.

You’ve got a good heart Ada. I would never ever even consider being a surrogate mom, because the genetic mom would have to beat me down to get that baby away from me, lol.

As I’ve shared with you, I have a daughter and a son. My husband always tells me that he’s going to file a law suit against me because I reneged on my original offer of six children, HA!.

Yes, I did tell him that I would have that many BEFORE we got married. However, after my very difficult pregnancy with my daughter wherein I spent my sixth month hospitalized and was then sent home on total bed rest until birth, I said NEVER again.

Three years later when I went to my OB/GYN for an annual and she told me that I was six weeks pregnant,I almost passed on to glory.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I wouldn’t be able to give away my baby. It would just be to hard, so being a surrogate mom is not an option for me. There are many that do this though, and really make a couples dreams come true. Great post.

My niece is due in the next two weeks with her 5th child. Two of her children are twins. Definitely stork fever going on at her house.

Very admirable quality of you wanting to be a surrogate mother. So many women want a child and have trouble conceiving, you would be a blessing to a couple. God Bless You!
