…for all the birthday wishes, it was a fun day.

It started off with reading all the cards the kids made me and that my in-laws mailed from Germany and then we went out to eat.

I was a bit surprised to see how many other people were celebrating a birthday on the same day, of about roughly twenty tables, almost every other one had a birthday gal or guy.

I had to stand up and do a “chicken dance” while the employees and other patrons clapped to a version of Happy Birthday, and got to have ice-cream after.

Harry was very impressed, and has asked to have his birthday party there next month, and I never say no to Japanese food, it is my weakness :).

I like the idea of Japanese food, but I’m not sure I would enjoy performing a chicken dance to celebrate my birthday. You are a good sport.

Glad to hear you had a great birthday. I have a lot of family and friends with birthdays in August (approximately 6 in total!), including my own birthday. A close friend of mine also celebrates her birthday on August 16th, so it does feel like a small world.

Usually, when the month of August is upon us, I’m running around trying to figure out what birthday cards and presents to get and to make sure I get it on time to the right people…phew!
