For whatever reason, my town never celebrates the 4th of July on the day it falls, its always a week after.
During the day, its more of a street fair atmosphere with various street vendors and activities for the kids, and one of the attractions this year was face painting which I had to literally beg Henry to do because he was frightened it would hurt, but in the end he sat so still, we thought he might have fallen asleep!
